ENGINEERING ROLES
FDE vs full stack developer
Quick answer
A full stack developer already spans UI to database, which is the right base; the move is to point that range at one customer's problem.
| FULL STACK DEVELOPER | FORWARD DEPLOYED ENGINEER | |
|---|---|---|
| MAIN OUTPUT | End-to-end product features | A working deployment inside one customer's systems |
| CLIENT TIME | Lower than an FDE | High: discovery, demos and handover every week |
| WRITES PRODUCTION CODE | Yes | Yes |
| PAY | See FDE salary in India for bands by experience and city. | |
